Peer Buergin

Head of Finance and Operations

Peer Buergin co-founded Prolifico in 2009 with Henry Madden and Paul Irvine. He manages the São Paulo office and is responsible for Prolifico’s financial structuring, banking and interaction with capital markets.

Prior to co-founding Prolifico, Peer was a senior member of UBS Pactual’s Special Situations team in São Paulo, where he sourced and executed turnaround and real estate opportunities. Preceding his move to Brazil, Peer was an Executive Director in Structured Finance at UBS Investment Bank, New York. He began his career as a corporate finance analyst at Warburg Dillon Read in Zurich.

Peer is fluent in five languages, holds a B.A. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich). He completed his master’s thesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in the USA.

Henry Madden

Head of Business Development

Henry Madden, located in Rio de Janeiro, is a co-founder of Prolifico responsible for site selection together with Paul Irvine, and oversees Prolifico’s operating businesses.

Before Prolifico, Henry co-founded Dehouche, the award-winning Brazil based tour operator, and Dehouche Land where he completed a series of real estate transactions in Brazil, purchasing and developing real estate for international clients and originating large real estate related transactions with UBS Pactual.

Prior to moving to Brazil, Henry worked at UBS for seven years, where he was based in New York, Asia, Zurich and eventually in São Paulo. Henry spearheaded the implementation of a new global trading approach that moved UBS from number six to number one in the global foreign exchange market in two years.

Henry holds BA (Hons) in Law and Accounting from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

Paul Irvine

Head of Acquisitions and Development

Paul Irvine, located in Rio de Janeiro, is a co-founder of Prolifico responsible for overseeing site selection, acquisition and development of real estate assets.

Prior to co-founding Prolifico, Paul co-founded Dehouche Travel and Dehouche Land in Brazil with Henry Madden.

Before moving to Brazil, Paul managed the investment banking division of Walker Hamill, a human resources firm in London.

Paul is a Brazil licensed real estate broker registered with COFECI / CRECI in the state of Rio de Janeiro and has a profound knowledge of real estate related investment and development projects.

Paul holds a Master’s degree in Politics and International Relations from Aberdeen University.

Lukas Rhomberg

Head of Legal & Compliance

Lukas Rhomberg joined Prolifico in July 2009 and is located in São Paulo. He plays a key role in the offshore structuring of the Prolifico companies and Brazilian and off-shore legal and compliance matters. He is also involved in deal negotiations, and is Prolifico’s Anti-Money Laundering Reporting officer (AMLRO).

As special counsel at a renowned Brazilian corporate law firm, he draws on significant legal resources and experience in terms of, among other matters, foreign investments in Brazil and deal execution in the areas of corporate and real estate law. Until 2009, he was a U.S. associate at the São Paulo office of Shearman & Sterling LLP, a leading U.S. law firm, where he coordinated numerous public and private offerings, and the structuring of private equity investments in Brazil. Lukas started his career at the European Commission in Brussels, specializing in international trade and WTO law.

Lukas is fluent in five languages and holds Law Degrees (JD equiv.) from University of Vienna Law School (Austria) and State University of São Paulo – UNESP (Brazil), a Master of Law (LL.M.) from the University of Chicago Law School and is admitted to practice law in the Federative Republic of Brazil, the State of New York and in England & Wales.

Emerson Mori

Finance & Controlling

Emerson Mori joined Prolifico’s São Paulo office in 2015, where he is responsible for financial modelling, accounting and controlling.

Prior to joining Prolifico, Emerson was CFO of Hyatt Brazil. He also holds considerable experience in real estate (Birmann, Landix) and logistics (CEVA Logistics, former TNT Logistics), where he led administrative and finance teams. Emerson began his career as an auditor at KPMG in São Paulo.

Emerson is fluent in three languages, holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting and a MBA in Corporate Finance from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
